2013 Photo Gallery
This year, instead of making a Christmas card, I've just put together a bunch of random photographs that I hope you will enjoy! (Some were taken by my brother John... thanks John!)
2013 was a busy year for us, with a lot of ups and downs. Our worst day was June 21st (Scott's 35th birthday), the day of the Calgary flood, and also the day of my dad's unexpected diagnosis with brain cancer. But we also had some really great things happen this year, including Scott's graduation from the U of C with his BSc in Physics, as well as the birth of our new baby Henry on Oct. 3rd. Right now Scott is actively job hunting, and Henry is turning out to be the most peaceful, calm baby we've ever met. Alec is almost five and loves his little brother. He's enjoying kindergarten at our neighbourhood school just down the street. Also, my dad is doing a lot better. After about two months being pretty sick, he's made a surprising recovery. Although it's unlikely that the cancer is gone for good, it's great that he's able to get things back to "normal" for now. He's lost a lot of weight, so it's all about physio and food! Luckily his amazing wife Shannon continues to do everything possible to look after him.
You'll see there are a lot of pictures of my dad and baby Henry in the photo galleries - both of them have been in our thoughts a lot this year. You'll also see my grandfather (my dad's dad), now aged 96, who lives in Toronto and has been out to Calgary three times this year to visit us!
