FAQ
What are the event details?
The artwalk/street celebration will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, from 11 AM - 5 PM, on Ramsay's two-block stretch of 23rd Avenue SE (between Spiller Road and 8th Street). For a map, take a look here. Is this a children's event? It's for everyone, but we'll have a children's event on the front lawn of 819 23rd Avenue (the house with the sun painted on it) between 1-3 PM: a tea party with a fairy tale princess, as well as sidewalk chalk and soap bubbles. What about washrooms? Caffe Rosso at 803 24th Avenue (one block away) has graciously offered the use of their (wheelchair-accessible) washroom to artwalk patrons. While you're there, you won't want to miss their excellent coffee and food, of course! For toddlers who can't wait, a bathroom will be available at 819 23rd Avenue (just come over and ask). The washroom at 819 is upstairs (not wheelchair-accessible). 23rd Avenue has no public washrooms. Is this a street party? We're not closing off the street - this is a sidewalk stroll. Is this an arts and crafts sale? We first envisioned this event as a fun exercise in community-building, which would also bring more Calgarians into the inner city to discover a bit more about the neighbourhood of Ramsay. However, yes, it is absolutely an arts and crafts sale too, featuring first-rate work for sale, along with the opportunity to meet with the artists on their home turf - literally! So make sure to bring CASH (or visit our local ATM two blocks away at the 7-11 on Spiller Road and 21st Street). What if the weather is lousy? We'll play it by ear. Since displaying art outdoors is pretty weather-dependent, some participants may not be able to show their work in case of bad weather. For now, let's just hope for the best! What is "find it"? This event is a find it - part of a new series of pop-up events in Inglewood & Ramsay! Find out more here. Whom can I contact about all this?
