Comics: "Sam Hester's Ramsay"
In 2011, I was invited to write a comic strip about my neighbourhood, Ramsay, for the Calgary Herald's "Project Calgary" series. The comic strip - which (ironically) I wrote in a hotel room in Germany, looking up Ramsay landmarks on the internet - provoked some positive responses which made me think about writing a monthly strip about Ramsay for our volunteer-run community newsletter.
Here is the original Calgary Herald comic (in three sections because the original poster was too big to post in this format), followed by six favourites from the newsletter strip. You can see the most recent ones, including 2018's seven "artist in residence" comics, here on my blog, and the earliest ones are here on my old website.
By the way, if you are interested in cool random stuff about my neighbourhood, here's an old link to a page about a fun 2012 event: Ramsay's "23rd Avenue Artwalk & Street Celebration!"
